This piece was created with oil pastels on toned paper, where rich, saturated pigment meets the cool, subtle undertones of the surface. The pastels glide on smoothly, allowing for immediate, expressive color that remains vibrant and full of life. To preserve the delicate texture and depth of the work, it comes framed under glass, ready to hang and enjoy.

This Peaceful Paths Collection of work is unified not just in subject but in the colors that bring it to life. I have chosen a limited, vibrant palette, intentionally minimizing color mixing to preserve the purity of each hue. Rather than breaking up color fields, I have focused on playing with chromatic values—using the intensity of color itself to create depth, atmosphere, and movement within each landscape.

The choice of oil pastels and oil paint sticks has allowed for a direct and immediate application of color, embracing a spontaneous, joyful energy in each mark. These materials are new to me, and in learning them, I have found a sense of play and discovery, letting color lead the way. This process has been an exploration of unfiltered expression, where joy is not just the subject but also the method.

As part of the Season of Ebenezer collection, it is hand-archived and stamped, marking its place in this body of work.
